As March comes to an end so does the 3rd marking period. Wow time sure has flown by. In just a few short months our 5th graders will be moving on to the rank of middle schooler. Where does the time go?!?
Just a heads up, time is going to seem as if it is moving at an unimaginable speed from now until the end of the year. We have a ton of testing as well as wonderful end of the year activities planned. Please be vigilant with checking the website and your email for important announcements. A schedule of PARCC and MAP testing dates will be coming home in the next couple of weeks.
During the month of April we will be working on the following:
Math 5: Multiplying decimals using models, divide decimals using place value strategies, and work on decimal problem solving (converting units of measure)
Math 5/6: Working on identifying and creating equivalent algebraic equations, solving algebraic equations as well as modeling, graphing and interpreting real world inequalities.
Reading: identifying different informational text structures using articles about bees, bats and the eyes of animals.
Social Studies; Examining how the goods and services in Maryland differ from the past to the present and how technology influences our purchasing of goods
Science: understand the idea of inherited traits and how traits are inherited through our ancestors
Writing: Research a career to have in the future. Form an opinion about the career existing in the future or not.
