We all had an amazing time at Mount Vernon. The weather couldn't have been better! A very special thank you to all the parents that volunteered their time to chaperone, without your help it would not have been possible.
Our trip on December 10th to the University of Maryland's Women's Basket\ball team was so FUN! We saw the Lady Terps best the women of Loyola. It was a great opportunity and fits nicely with the research we are doing in writing on change movements in the United States. If you still need a permission slip you can find a link to it in the "Field Trips" section on the website.
BABY PICTURES! If you have not already done so, please send one to your child's teacher.
While there are only 3 weeks left until Winter Break we will be working right up to December 21st. Here is what we will be working on over the course of the month:
Math 5: Division strategies and adding and subtracting fractions
Math:(Compacted): Ratios and proportions and dividing fractions
Reading: Using close reading strategies to interpret complex text in both fiction and non-fiction
Science: Properties of waves and how information is transmitted over long distances using waves
Social Studies: Examining the US Constitution
As we close out 2018, the 5th Grade Team would like to wish you a happy holiday season and hope that you have both a safe and fun winter break. We will see you all in 2019!
